LAMP assigned 438 children to three atropine concentrations or placebo. The effect was dose dependent, with 0.05% atropine producing the smallest refractive and axial-length changes at one year.
A US randomised trial in 187 children did not confirm the expected advantage of 0.01% atropine over placebo. The result cautions against assuming equal efficacy across doses and populations.
